Great Falls—Calumet and the Honorable Governor Greg Gianforte will hold a formal ribbon cutting ceremony on August 19 at 10:30am at the plant. This event will celebrate the first seed oil feedstock to be used in the production of renewable diesel fuel.

This event highlights an in-progress energy transition project at the facility. Montana Renewables is a fast-paced project in which part of the plant is being converted for the production of renewable fuel. The project is significant for the State of Montana, with an end goal of integrating farm and ranch operations within Montana for other renewable feedstocks. The conversion will be complete and operation will begin in the second quarter of 2022.

Local media are invited to the ribbon cutting event and should contact Karen McDaniel at karen.mcdaniel@calumetspecialty.com or by phone at 406-454-9843 or 406-564-0820 no later than Monday, August 16.
